The Facilities Managers at 10 Gresham Street (a large office block in London) had problems with their existing WCsÂ not flushing properly and creating blockages. As a trial, they fitted auto electronic WC Flushvalves to the WCs on the worst two offending floors to see if this would improve matters. The powerful auto Flushvalve worked and the problems were sorted. They have since installed over 100 electronic auto WC Flushvalves throughout the building.
Saving millions of litres of water each year
MOTO Motorway Service stations are used by millions of people each year and so the water usage at the WCs (and maintenance problems such as broken handles/linkages) add up to a major annual financial outlay. As such the Grouop Facilities Manager was keen to look for ways to reduce the water and maintenance costs. MOTO engineers carried out their own extensive trial using water meters to monitor actual water consumption â€œbeforeâ€ (i.e. with the existingÂ standard siphonic flush) and â€œafterâ€ installation of our sensor operated electronic WC Flushvalves.
The trial lasted about 9 months during which MOTO informed us they had achieved savings of approximately 160,000 litres of water Per WC Per year providing a quick payback period. Due to the â€œNo-Touchâ€ electronic sensor operation, they also have no handles or linkages to break thus substantially reducing maintenance costs and downtime. MOTO have since installed almost 1500 â€œNo-Touchâ€ sensor operated WC Flushvalves nationwide.
