In September 2004, Polyteck commenced work on a new build scheme which provides a mixed use development of three offices and seven apartments. Situated on Leman Street in London E1, this construction project attracted particular interest from an archaeological point of view, as it is close to a well known Roman burial site. | ![]() |
Arranged over five upper storeys, the building provides a total of 11,000 sq. ft of accommodation, with the apartments housed over three floors and a penthouse on the fourth. The building is steel frame in construction and the basement incorporates a Corus sheet piling system which acts as a water proof barrier. This is a unique feature that has only been utilised on a handful of projects in London. |
The external fabric comprises of traditional brickwork incorporating an Ancon brickwork support system, the penthouse is timber-framed and finished in architectural zinc cladding. Windows are double-glazed aluminium with secondary glazing. Curtain walling has been incorporated into the scheme and provides daylight into the residential common area. | ![]() |
The property development project was completed in 65 weeks, with an approximate construction value of £2.0 million.
