During each test, the emergency lights should be checked for correct operation. After testing, the electricity supply should be restored and then checked to ensure the emergency lighting system is charging correctly. All testing and results should be documented in log books on site.

NOTE: The current EU regulations states, that emergency lighting testing should be undertaken monthly and annually, i.e. a full discharge test. Therefore the Six Monthly check is no longer compulsory, but it is still highly recommended.
